Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps has landed in cinemas worldwide, and Cinelab Film & Digital is proud to have played a key role in bringing Marvel’s First Family back to the big screen.

Working closely with cinematographer Jess Hall ASC BSC, our team provided a full suite of services including Digital Dailies, Film Dailies, Film Processing, Film Scanning, and Dailies Colour. The production was primarily captured on the ARRI Alexa 65, with selected sequences shot on 35mm and 16mm film - a bold hybrid approach that combined digital precision with the texture of photochemical film.

With multiple units filming across different formats, Cinelab handled more than a petabyte of footage, making this the largest feature film we have supported to date, and one of the most data-heavy projects in Marvel’s history.

Our Head of Colour Darren Rae (Supervising Dailies Colourist), supported by Daniel Rosenberg, worked hand-in-hand with Jess Hall to establish LUTs, review rushes, and ensure creative intent carried seamlessly across both digital and film. Meanwhile, our film lab and scanning teams delivered pristine processing and transfers, all under one roof - a unique capability in the UK.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps marks our second collaboration with Marvel Studios following Deadpool & Wolverine, and reflects our commitment to supporting filmmakers who push the boundaries of storytelling across both film and digital.

🎬 Now playing in cinemas worldwide.
