First trailer for Greta Gerwig’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew
Cinelab Film & Digital handled 35mm processing and 4K scanning on Netflix’s return to Narnia.
Netflix has released the first trailer for Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew, written and directed by Greta Gerwig and photographed by Seamus McGarvey ASC BSC.
The film is the first screen adaptation of C. S. Lewis’s 1955 novel, which tells the story of Narnia’s creation. Gerwig has described it as “the gorgeously improbable but completely brilliant concept of a cosmic lion singing the world of Narnia to life.”
The cast includes Emma Mackey, Carey Mulligan, Ciarán Hinds, Daniel Craig and Meryl Streep, alongside newcomers David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell.
The production was a hybrid shoot, captured on both digital and 35mm 4-perf film. Cinelab handled processing and scanning of the film material: over half a million feet of 35mm, scanned at high resolution.
Principal photography took place across London and at Shepperton and Longcross Studios.
Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew opens in cinemas on 12 February 2027, with IMAX previews from 10 February, and arrives on Netflix on 2 April 2027.
