Cinelab Film & Digital were proud to partner with the UK Music Video Awards 2022, to sponsor the award for Best Pop Video UK for the second year running.

On a sensational evening at the UKMVAs on Thursday at Magazine London, nearly 40 awards were presented for the best work in music videos over the past year. Cinelab were delighted to see so many productions shot on film and proud to have supported many of the shortlisted and award-winning work.

Adrian Bull, CEO of Cinelab Film & Digital commented, "Music videos have always provided a fertile breeding ground for creative talent and original ideas. We have been delighted to see a huge resurgence in promos shot on film and to provide a comprehensive service to those filmmakers shooting across all formats; including 8mm, 16mm, 35mm and digital.”

The award for Best Pop Video UK 2022, was presented by Cinelab’s Aarti Mahtani and went to Harry Styles - As It Was, directed by Tanu Muino, who also picked up the award for Best Director on the night. Tanu, a native Ukrainian, gave a stirring speech in support of her motherland and undoubtedly received the largest ovation of the evening.

Amongst the other big UKMVA winners was Little Simz ft Obongjayar - Point and Kill, which picked up wins for Best Hip Hop / Grime / Rap Video – UK, Best Wardrobe Styling in a Video, Best Colour Grading, and a Best New Director win for Ebeneza Blanche. Cinelab were proud to see the deserved wins come in for the brilliant promo, which was lensed by DOP Sam Meyer, and benefitted from utilising Cinelab’s DFD service.

Other Cinelab supported projects that picked on gongs on the night were Radiohead - If You Say The Word. Directed by Kasper Häggström and lensed by DOP Daniel Voldheim, the cinematic promo won Best Alternative Video – UK.

The award for Best Live Video went to director Hector Aponysus for his beautiful and very touching video for Obongjayar - I Wish It Was Me, lensed by DOP Joe Gainsborough.

Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees. An incredible standard of work and talent were celebrated and rewarded with the recognition they richly deserve.

Another reason the game is easy is the predictable design of obstacles. Although the sled moves faster over time, the obstacles often appear in patterns that players can quickly recognize. After playing a few rounds, it becomes easier to anticipate what is coming next. This reduces the challenge significantly because players are not constantly surprised. Instead, they rely on reflexes and pattern recognition, which improves naturally with snowrider time.
