straight 8 2023 // Open to Entries

straight 8 the S8mm film making challenge is now open to 2023 entries.

The challenge:

1. Make a short film on one cartridge of super 8mm film. Only editing in-camera, with no postproduction.

2. All films are then processed & scanned Cinelab Film & Digital.

3. Make you original soundtrack 'blind'.

See your film for the first time at the Cannes Film Festival, if it makes the straight 8 top 8.

The top 25 screen at BFI Southbank & around the country at straight 8 screenings.
