The modern film lab is a hybrid – part photochemical laboratory and part advanced digital postproduction hub.
The recent issue of Definition magazine features a piece based on a conversation with Cinelab’s Thom Trigger about "How to Work with your Lab". It covers the process from early creative conversations and approaches to workflow design through to final delivery, and what makes the difference between a smooth film production and a stressful one.
The underlying principle for Cinelab is that film processing, scanning, sound sync, colour, dailies and VFX pulls are treated as a single integrated pipeline - not separate services bolted together.
