Cinelab Film & Digital is proud to have contributed to the feature film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, directed by Tom Harper and lensed by cinematographer by George Steel.

Working with the production’s post team, Cinelab provided its DFD (Digital–Film–Digital) workflow, transferring the finished film onto 35mm Kodak 50D camera negative. The film was then processed through Cinelab’s photochemical lab before being scanned back at 4K to digital for the final finishing pipeline.

The DFD process introduces the subtle texture, density and tonal characteristics of film to digitally captured material. Finishing colour was beautifully crafted by Time Based Arts’ Simone Grattarola, with DI editorial and delivery handled by Dirty Looks.

Set during the turmoil of World War II, the film sees Tommy Shelby return from exile to a bombed Birmingham, becoming entangled in covert wartime missions while confronting the consequences of his past.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is now screening in cinemas ahead of its global release on Netflix.
