Two Cinelab-supported films head to the Croisette in this year's Directors' Fortnight selection, with members of the team on the ground for meetings, panels and networking.
We're delighted to share that two Cinelab-supported productions have been selected for Directors' Fortnight at the 79th Cannes Film Festival.
CLARISSA
A film by Arie and Chuko Esiri, Clarissa was shot on 35mm. Cinelab provided film processing, scanning, dailies and dailies colour.

LOW EXPECTATIONS [Lave Forventninger]
A film by Eivind Landsvik, Low Expectations was shot on 16mm and Super 8mm. Cinelab provided film processing, scanning, and dailies colour.

Congratulations to both filmmaking teams on their selection — we're proud to have supported the work, and look forward to seeing the films play to Cannes audiences.
Meet the Cinelab team in Cannes
Two members of the Cinelab team will be at the festival:
Aarti Mahtani, Director of Sales, Cinelab Film & Digital
Steve Milne, Vice-Chairman, Cinelab Film & Digital

Steve will be a panellist on The Post & VFX Playbook: Using the UK incentives to maximise creativity, taking place at the UK Pavilion on Sunday 17 May, 9.30–11.00. Presented by the British Film Commission and UK Screen Alliance, the producer-focused session looks at demystifying the post and VFX process and how to make the most of the UK's Audio-Visual Expenditure Credits for post and VFX spend.
Steve joins fellow speakers Shobha Conway (Union VFX), Colin Kennedy (fixFX) and Cara Kotschy (Residence Pictures), with Neil Hatton MBE (UK Screen Alliance) moderating. Networking and refreshments follow - Aarti will also be there. Open to Marché du Film and Festival accreditation badge holders.
If you'd like to arrange a meeting with us in Cannes, to discuss a project, talk workflow, or just say 'hello', please get in touch:

straight 8 at Cannes: presented by Cinelab Film & Digital
We're also proud be presenting straight 8. The 2026 Cannes Top 8 screening takes place at Cinéma Olympia onSaturday 16 May. Registration essential, sign up here: https://www.straight8.net/cannes-2026-rsvp

straight 8 challenges filmmakers to shoot a single cartridge of Super 8mm in story order, editing only with each pull of the camera's trigger - no retakes, no post - and submit an original soundtrack without seeing the film first. A celebration of film that we're delighted to support.
Can’t Cannes?
The full top 25 selection screening at BFI IMAX London on the evening of Saturday 23 May. The online premiere follows on 30 May at 8pm.
We hope to see you there.
