After the break-up of the biggest band in the world, what comes next? Man on the Run, the new documentary featuring rare and previously unreleased music and footage from Paul McCartney, premiered on 27 February on Prime Video.
Directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville, the film follows Paul McCartney in the years following the break-up of The Beatles and the formation of Wings with his wife, Linda. The documentary charts the arc of McCartney’s solo career as he navigates the pressures of life after the Beatles while creating new music that would help define a new decade.
Drawing on unprecedented access to previously unseen footage and rare archival materials, Man on the Run offers an intimate portrait of McCartney’s transformative post-Beatles period.
Cinelab collaborated with MPL Communications on the 4K scanning and digitisation of archive film materials, including behind-the-scenes and concert footage, supporting the film’s restoration and preservation workflows.
