Cinelab has completed the DFD (Digital-Film-Digital) process for "Clingers," the hero film of Apple's new 2026 global privacy campaign for iPhone. Directed by Ivan Zacharias through Smuggler for agency TBWA\Media Arts Lab, the spot personifies online data trackers as chrome-suited figures who physically latch onto people as they browse, relentlessly following them until Safari steps in and blocks them out.

Shot digitally by cinematographer Jan Velicky, the production ran its footage through Cinelab's DFD workflow, recording out to Kodak 2254, the fine-grain intermediate stock originally created for DI passes, before scanning it back. It's a notable choice: where many productions reach for a stock with slightly more pronounced, visible grain, 2254 is valued for the opposite quality, an exceptionally fine grain structure. That makes it a way of introducing genuine filmic, cinematic texture without a heavy "film look" overpowering the image.
